Christopher Boufarhat, Karl Daniels, Ben Obulejo and Habib Moussa
Blog 1: 25/7/2011
On this day, our team came together to create the foundations of our future trailer. Features such as the characters, setting and the
plot of the trailer were briefly discussed. By the end of the period, we came to the conclusion that the characters will be as follows:
Habib Moussa will be Jacinta and Moey Dee (Portia in the original version of the film)
Christopher Boufarhat will be Nayeef (Shylock in the original version of the film)
Karl Daniels will be Carlito (Bassanio in the original version of the film)
Ben will be Carlos (Antonio in the original version of the film)
The plot is to be thoroughly discussed on the next blog.
Blog 2: 28/7/2011
After 2 periods of discussion and arguments, the team has made a unanimous decision to base the trailer on the following plot which is
kind of similar to the original version of the film adding a couple of minor distinct touches to the story line:
A young man named Carlito is addicted to drugs but does not own the money required to purchase his needs. His very much loyal friend
Carlos decides to help him aquire the sum of money he requires by borrowing the money from his Jewish lender friend named Nayeef. Carlos
has over the years, developed a close relationship with Carlito; too close for Carlito's comfort zone. He does not want to lose his "close friend" through
a drug overdose which he might be held accountable for but still offers to help him out of loyalty and "love". When the time comes for them and Nayeef
to make a deal, they agree to 1 very harsh condition; if Carlos fails to pay the money back within 3 months, Nayeef will be granted a wife; Jacinta, the
girl which Carlito is in love with. Events unfold unexpectedly...

After the plot and characters were set, it was time to organize how our trailer will be shot. Christopher will use his iphone 4 to shoot the scenes.
Minimal props and costumes will be used. The shots will be taken mostly at school, but if not completed in time, we will organize time outside of
school. That will be the trailer's setting.
Blog 4: 3/8/2011
Today we managed to practice our lines on the grass area. The actors got comfortable with their characters and the plays were set and well practiced for
the shooting in the next period. A few minor props were organized to be brought in with us in the next period. Most characters will be dressed in school
uniform as we do not have alot of the necessary props.

Today in our group we started to film our trailer. We filmed two scenes of the trailer. The first scene is Karl and Habib, Karl playing Carlito which is a guy
that is addicted to drugs. Habib is playing Moey Deee, a guy that supplies Carlito with the drugs. The second scene is of Karl and Ben; Ben is playing Carlos
who is Carlito's best friend. In this scene, Carlito is asking Carlos for money in order to purchase his drugs.

Today we as a group decided that Habbib will act as two characters. He will act as the drug dealer (Moey Deee) and at the same time he will also act as
the girl (Jacinta). On this day, we also got together as a group and worked on inspiration to make a mind map. We discussed a few issue including different
settings in our trailer, the costume that each character wears, the props that we used in our trailer, the different sound effect, the technical information used
and other trailer effects.
Blog 7: 9/8/2011
Today in our group we did five scenes of our trailer, the first was on just Carlos talking to Nayeef on the phone. Chris is playing Nayeef who is a Jew.
The second one is Carlos and Nayeef doing their money lending business. The next one is of Nayeef in a angry mood because he hasnt received his money.
After that, Carlos and Carlito were talking and Jacinta was just standing there. ( Jacinta is a girl who Carlito likes) The last one is of Nayeef screaming at Carlito.

In this double period of English Mr Anderson gave the class a chance to complete recording their trailer. We as a group completed recording our trailer, but all we
have to do is edit it. We can not use the laptops/computer at school to edit our trailer because they do not have the necessary software we needed. Instead of
editing our trailer we completed our mind map task on inspiration as a group. At the end of the period Chris
said that he is able to edit the trailer, because his the only one in our group that has the necessary software.
Blog 9: 11/8/2011
Chris knew how important this assessment task was, so after school he went home and straight away started editing the trailer. He told the rest of the group that
he will add some effect, sounds, words and more. Our trailer is based on drug dealing, best friends, love and anger. In conclusion we have worked well as a group
to complete this assessment task. We all shared some ideas, co-operated well in the group, and everyone put in their best. If our group was lazy and did not
co-operate well, we would not be up to this stage of completing the task.
